Decorating a dull apartment

Decorating a dull apartment

Everyone cherishes the dream of one day owning their own home. The reality however, is that owning a home is expensive, especially with the dwindling economy that we live with at the moment.

Therefore, most of us settle to live inside an apartment for the time being, or at least until we can scrunch up enough money to finally get a house of our own. Most of the time, the first apartment you can afford will be rather small, because the bigger the apartment or the condo, the higher the rent will be at the end of the month.

The problem with smaller apartments is that you can’t really decorate them to your liking. Since most people don’t live there for many years at a time, there’s really no need to re-tile the kitchen backsplash or to repaint the bathroom. Still, you can redecorate an apartment without even having to open a bucket of paint.

Self adhesive wall tiles:
Self adhesive wall tiles are a wonderful way to transform the dull decor of a small space into something truly out of the ordinary. Unlike regular tiles that take require a lot of preparation work and that can take ages to install, self adhesive tiles require no special tools and they can be installed quickly and easily. All that is required is to find a nice, clean and flat surface to install them on, peel off the backing, and you’re done. They can even be installed over existing tiles, so no messy removal job will be needed!

Self adhesive wall art:
Over the last few years, self adhesive wall art (also known as wall decals) has become more and more popular when it comes to decorating. These decals come in a wide variety of funky and cool designs that can represent anything from the cityscape of New York to a quote about the importance of laughter. They are perfect anywhere and, just like self adhesive tiles, they can be installed and removed without damaging the walls. So once the time to move comes around, you can pack up your decor and leave without getting a hear full of insults from your former landlord.

No matter what the size of your home, what is important is that you are happy where you live. It’s where you will spend most of your time after all, so it’s important to take the time to transform this space into a comfortable, safe place you will be proud to call, “home”.
