Body image, self-confidence and womens shapewear

“Our own physical body possesses a wisdom which we who inhabit the body lack.” – Henry Miller

So even though you have not lost those last 10 lbs since your second daughter was born, you know that you should be proud of yourself and your accomplishments. You have two beautiful children, a loving marriage and a successful career. Why is it then that every time you put on a slightly fitted top, your “happy-go-lucky, bring on the world” confident self seems to be plunge faster than your two year old’s glass of milk off the counter?

Living life to the fullest Regrettably, body image and self-assurance go hand in hand; confidence plays an important role in our life. Having confidence changes everything. Unfortunately, many of us have days where our self-limiting thoughts and poor habits hold us back from achieving success and living to the fullest.

A confident person is not only more likely to succeed, but radiates strength, enthusiasm and passion. A confident woman knows what she wants and what she is capable of achieving.

Improved body image

One of the primary reasons for a lack of self confidence is a poor body image on account of feeling discontent with your body shape or size. Though, it is difficult to disregard body image in a society that gives high praise to looks, there are ways that you can feel better about yourself and raise your self esteem.

  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder: We all know that looks are important, but what if we took a moment to evaluate our “ranking system”; you will notice that everyone has their own standards for beauty. While you may find one person average looking, your friend may find that person beautiful. The same holds true for you, so go easy!
  • A bit of hidden help – Sometimes, let’s face it, we just need a little picker-upper! Whether it is a new lipstick, a new pair of shoes or perhaps a body shaper, for an even sexier silhouette under your favourite dress or pair of jeans; there is nothing wrong with using a body slimmer to improve your body image and boost your self-confidence!
  • Other factors weigh on beauty: Looks alone do not determine beauty. Recent research shows that people, who smile, act confidently, walk tall and appear to be popular, come across as more attractive. So, throw your shoulders back, lift your chin and smile…people may even wonder what you are up to!
