A Sweet DIY Exfoliant For Summer Ready Skin

A Sweet DIY Exfoliant For Summer Ready Skin

The beach is calling our names and the last thing we want to show up with is dry, flaky skin that you would rather hide than flaunt.

To get our fine selves in top beach form exfoliating is the way to go, and not only is it an easy fix but it can be fabulously cheap too, if you know the right DIY recipe.

So skip the spa, save some money, and make your own exfoliant that is not only simple but oh-so-sweet.

Aw Sugar Sugar

Exfoliating sessions are handy when it comes to shedding those layers of clothing and getting your skin beach ready as it helps to slough off the dead, dry, scaly layers of skin off your body and leave you with healthy, glowing, soft skin you can’t help but touch.

And while you could hit up a spa and pay someone to exfoliate you, I find it is much better to make your own exfoliating treatment and use it as often as you like.

All you need is some sugar, some coconut oil or olive oil if you don’t have coconut, some mason jars, and your favourite essential oils.

Then just simply combine your oil with enough sugar so that you create a paste that is thick enough to spread on your body without just running off.

Stir your mixture until it is well combined and then add in your favourite essential oils so that your skin will not only be super soft but will also smell amazing.

Once you have everything mixed together, just scoop your paste into your mason jars and secure the lids so that you don’t have one big mess on your hands.

Now if you are like me, and can’t seem to decide on just one scent, make a few smaller batches of your exfoliant that way you can add different scents to each batch and switch it up each time you are in the shower.

Just make sure you label each jar so you know which scent you are using.

Also know that you don’t need to exfoliate each and every time you are in the shower, just when you find your skin needs some DIY TLC. Or if you do want to use it each time you are in the shower just use it on your roughest areas like your elbows, knees, feet, or even legs.

And if you are in the giving mood, why not turn your sugar exfoliants into thoughtful gifts for your girlfriends? Simply add a label with a personal message, some ribbon or twine and give your friends the gift of beach ready skin!
