Styling Your Hair For An Evening Beach Event

Styling Your Hair For An Evening Beach Event

Summer is already in full blast, and I’m sure most of us would like to head to the beach for some relaxation and to escape from the busy city life. Since it’s the vacation season, it’s also a time for evening beach events. Now, aside from thinking about what to wear to these events, it’s also as important to determine how you’ll wear your hair. After all, you don’t want to look too plain or too outrageous with all the beautiful people around.

Here are some points to consider in choosing the right hairstyle for you:

Type of Event

The word beach may automatically translate to casual everything. However, this is not always the case. There are some events, such as weddings, dinners or intimate soirees in which a haphazard hairstyle just won’t make the cut. For these events, you can opt to have your hair neatly coifed or braided from the sides to the back and accessorized with fresh flowers. Or if you have long hair, try curling the ends to give you a softer look.

If it is a bit informal, but still more on the classy side, you can go for a loose single braid done towards one said and accessorized by a thin headband over across the forehead. Casual events call for comfortable hairdo, so you can style your hair more liberally.

Activities of the Event

If it’s an all-night concert, or if you expect that there will be some night swimming involved, then you have to prepare your hair for action. After all, you don’t want to look like you’ve been inside a tornado when it’s time for photo opportunities. You may tie your hair back for a single ponytail, or don a turban-like headwear or bandana if you prefer the gypsy look. Another option is to keep your hair in place by using double headbands.

Temperature and Humidity

If the event is held in a place where the nights are quite hot, it is suggested that you tie your hair up to avoid discomfort, and if it’s hot and humid (and the occasion is very casual), you may sport cornrows or fine braids. However, if the night is quite cool and it’s not very windy, you can go for something that would use a little more maintenance, like braiding one side of your hair into two to three strands of varying thickness and leaving the rest as is.
